With A Little Help From My Friends

With A Little Help From My Friends

Digital paintings.

Started off as night time therapy in between computer work.
Personal consumption.

Jay Amante, friend and co-organizer of the November HiFi Show, happened to see these and invited me to do a solo exhibit at his art gallery, Blanc Art Space. Why not?  Besides, we were thinking of some promo events leading to that year’s (2006) HiFi Show.

We needed a theme. So as prelude to the show, what better theme than music?
I came up with these artists and their songs as respective titles to the prints.

Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad? (Eric Clapton)
Satisfaction (Mick Jagger)
Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix)
Southern Comfort (Janis Joplin)
Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (Neil Young)
Suspicious Minds (Elvis Presley)
Constellation (Charlie Parker)
Fine Young Cannibals (Chet Baker)
Blues For Pablo (Miles Davis)
Conversations With Myself (Bill Evans)
On The Sunny Side Of The Street (Frank Sinatra)
With A Little Help From My Friends (The Beatles)

Here are some of the works featured in the show.

Conversations With Myself
(Bill Evans)

Suspicious Minds

(Mick Jagger)

Everybody Knows This is Nowhere

Each ‘painting” (20 x 30in) is printed using the Gilcee process on French Arches Paper.—————————————————-

      Thanks Paul,
      Glad you liked them.
These net pics do not do justice to the actual paintings.
The French Arches paper we use for these prints have slightly off white color and slightly textured with torn edged on all sides.
      Beautiful when framed.

I hung two (beatles and elvis) on a corner wall just above the Continental – cool!
